It's been a while since I updated here, but a lot has happened between now and then. One such major change would be my Wira's massive transformation and wow, what a difference it has been since I first picked up the car in 2017 with Dad...
The shade is called Atlantic Blue, first seen on the Proton Suprima S in 2013, and I must say that it really make the Wira just POP. Sure, the weeks that followed made me realised that there are quite a lot of blue cars, but I say mine is the most distinctive for the time-being and it certainly beats having peeling paint and rust spots previously. I would go as far as saying that it almost reminds me of a certain Subaru model... Pair that with a set of white RPO1 rims, the car has pretty much - at least, aesthetically - transformed to a different beast. If I am to be honest, the paint job - to put it mildly - could do with some improvements. I'm yet to visit a detailing shop to ask and see what can be done to make it better, though I'm guessing that a polish and waxing would all what this car needs. Though to most people, the way that it is right now is already good enough. Of course, new skin doesn't necessarily translate to new internals, hence there are a few mechanical gremlins that would definitely need attention someday. But when, exactly?
This is one issue that I've been trying to address for a while now. I've resigned from my job at the start of this year, and currently I'm pursuing my degree. Juggling between my hobby and my college life is a bit of a handful, to say the least, further exacerbated by the fact that I no longer have a source of income, except for when I do a few GrabFood deliveries, which is only as frequent as I am free. There's also this existential crisis - should I continue doing up my Wira, or throw in the towel and get something better after 5 years of adventure? My fickle mind kept changing my desires, but a tiny part of me is still clinging on to the thought of keeping the old girl.
Keeping it is one thing - I still have no idea which direction do I want to take with this car. Do I want to make it into a bonafide cruiser, or shall I strip it all out into a dedicated track toy? Honestly, I've been increasingly tempted to the latter, and even go with power upgrades such as bolting on a turbocharger. Considering the amount I've already dumped onto this car over the course of five years, I might as well go balls out. However, the motivation and budget just isn't there, and I'm still not sure if that's the direction I want to pursue. For five years I've owned this car, I've made changes to it based on the many different phases of my life, so only God knows what would the next phase in my life be...
Anyway, that's a long overdue update. College life hasn't been a pain, but it has certainly kept me busy from making further updates. I hope to start updating soon again someday when I have the motivation, idea or time to make a post. With that said, until next time!
